Treasury Launches Search for CEO to Lead Ksh5 Trillion National Infrastructure Fund

According to the recruitment notice, the successful applicant will oversee the fund's daily operations and provide strategic leadership. The position offers an opportunity to lead one of Kenya's largest infrastructure investment institutions.
CEO Will Drive Infrastructure Investments
Treasury said the incoming chief executive will spearhead efforts to attract funding for major infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will also oversee investment planning and strengthen partnerships with local and international financiers.
The role includes working closely with pension funds, institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds, and development finance institutions. The CEO will also supervise innovative financing strategies to support future projects.
Treasury Outlines Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, Law, or another related field. Candidates should also possess a master's degree or a recognised professional qualification in a relevant discipline.
Treasury listed certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Public Accountant, and Chartered Accountant among the accepted professional credentials. Additional qualifications may strengthen a candidate's application.
Experience Required for Applicants
The recruitment notice requires candidates to demonstrate at least ten years of relevant professional experience. Applicants must also have spent a minimum of five years in a senior executive leadership role.
Treasury is looking for professionals with experience raising capital and managing complex infrastructure investments. Previous engagement with boards of directors and governance institutions will offer an added advantage.
Contract Terms and Application Process
The successful candidate will serve on a fixed-term renewable contract under the National Infrastructure Fund Act. Treasury said continued service will depend on satisfactory performance throughout the contract period.
Shortlisted candidates must present clearance certificates from KRA, EACC, DCI, HELB, and a Credit Reference Bureau before interviews. They will also need to provide a detailed CV, copies of identification documents, and contacts for three referees.
Deadline Set for July 31
Treasury directed interested applicants to submit their applications through the official email addresses or deliver them to the Treasury Building in Nairobi. All applications must reach the selection panel before the stated deadline.
The recruitment exercise will close at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, after which the board will begin the shortlisting process.
