KRA Announces Four-Day Public Auction Across Nairobi and Mombasa
In a notice issued on Friday, June 5, the tax authority invited members of the public to participate in the sale of goods through physical bidding sessions and an online platform.
The auction will begin at the Inland Container Depot Nairobi (ICDN) on Monday, June 8, 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m. The exercise will continue at the same venue on Tuesday, June 9, also at 10:00 a.m.
On Wednesday, June 10, the auction will shift to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), where bidders will have another opportunity to participate beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The final session will be held on Thursday, June 11 at the Container Freight Station (CFS) in Kilindini, Mombasa, with proceedings also set to start at 10:00 a.m.
KRA said the exercise is open to the public and aims to allow interested buyers to acquire various goods through competitive bidding.
The authority encouraged bidders to attend the auction physically at the designated venues or place their bids online through its official auction portal at ibid.kra.go.ke.
The tax agency regularly conducts such auctions as part of its mandate to dispose of unclaimed, seized, or abandoned goods held in its warehouses.
KRA noted that participants are required to follow all auction rules and procedures to ensure a smooth and transparent process throughout the four-day exercise.
