Rules Every KJSEA Candidate Must Follow
KNEC requires candidates to be seated at their desks at least 15 minutes before each paper begins. Candidates must also make themselves available for searching outside the assessment room, as directed by examination officials.
The council has emphasised punctuality throughout the assessment period. Learners should arrive early enough to settle down and follow all instructions issued by supervisors.
Candidates must check their names and assessment numbers before starting each paper. They should also confirm that question papers contain all pages and immediately report missing maps or other required materials.
Answers must be written using blue or black ink, according to the examination instructions. Pencils should only be used for diagrams and shading multiple-choice answer sheets, while candidates must bring the necessary mathematical and drawing instruments.
KPSEA Examinations Also Begin Monday
The Kenya Primary School Education Assessment will also begin on Monday, October 26, and end on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. Candidates completed their rehearsal on Friday, October 23, in preparation for the three-day assessment.
Monday's KPSEA papers will cover Mathematics and English, while Tuesday's schedule includes Integrated Science and Kiswahili. Kenyan Sign Language is also included in Tuesday's assessments, while Wednesday will feature Creative Arts and Social Studies.
The first paper each day is scheduled to begin at 8:30 am. Parents and guardians should confirm that learners understand their examination schedules and have the required materials ready.
Mobile Phones and Examination Malpractice Banned
KNEC prohibits candidates from bringing mobile phones and other electronic communication devices into assessment centres. The council warns that candidates found with such devices risk having their examination results cancelled.
The examination instructions also state that irregularities committed in any paper may lead to cancellation of results for the entire subject. Candidates must not communicate with outsiders, seek unfair assistance or remove used or unused paper from examination rooms.
Parents and guardians have been urged to help learners prepare for the assessments by ensuring they arrive on time. Candidates should observe all examination rules and follow instructions from supervisors throughout the national assessment exercise.
