A video shared on the night of Sunday, June 28, showed Ofweneke arriving at Stevo's home carrying shopping for the musician and his family. The two spent time together as they discussed the controversy that sparked widespread public debate.
Visit Follows Public Backlash
The visit followed criticism directed at Andrew Kibe after he claimed on the podcast that people like Stevo Simple Boy should not have children. The remarks attracted widespread condemnation from Kenyans across social media.
Although Kibe made the comments, Ofweneke also came under criticism because he hosts the podcast. He later apologised publicly and accepted responsibility for allowing the remarks to air.
During the home visit, Ofweneke chose to apologise directly to Stevo and his family. He said he wanted to demonstrate that his support for the musician remained genuine despite the controversy.
Ofweneke Offers Personal Apology
While speaking to Stevo, Ofweneke encouraged him not to let criticism affect his confidence. He said people should focus on an individual's contribution rather than physical appearance.
"Nobody's life is a beauty contest. Nobody cares about how you look. They care about the work you bring into people's lives," Ofweneke told the musician.
He also pledged to continue supporting Stevo and his family in the future. The comedian said he believed everything happens for a reason and expressed regret over the incident.
"I'll continue supporting you as I've always done. I will stand by you even more now because God had a reason. From the bottom of my heart, I'm sorry, and I love you so much," he said.
Stevo to Feature on Podcast
Ofweneke revealed that Stevo Simple Boy would appear on an upcoming episode of Lessons at 30. He said the episode would give the musician an opportunity to share his personal journey with viewers.
The media personality also addressed Kenyans who criticised him after the podcast episode. He thanked members of the public for holding him accountable and said he had learnt important lessons from the experience.
"I humbly accept the positive criticism. From the bottom of my heart, I'm really sorry. We live to learn and fight another day," he said.
Stevo Appreciates Support
Stevo Simple Boy thanked Ofweneke for visiting him and standing by him during the difficult period. He said the gesture meant a lot to both him and his family.
"Thank you so much, my brother, Dr Ofweneke, for standing with me, defending me and encouraging me during this difficult time. Today, you took your time to visit me personally and comfort me, something that my family and I truly appreciate," Stevo wrote.
The musician also thanked Ofweneke for his friendship and support. He prayed for God's blessings upon the media personality as the controversy gradually subsides.
