Skater Kevin Kiarie Reaffirms Bid for Roysambu MP Seat in 2027

Skater Kevin Kiarie has maintained that he will run for the Roysambu parliamentary seat in the August 2027 General Election, despite the political challenges ahead. He said his commitment to serve the constituency remained firm, reaffirming a promise previously made to residents.

In a statement issued on Monday, October 12, Kiarie said Roysambu had significant opportunities that could be unlocked through effective leadership. He highlighted business, education, healthcare and infrastructure as key areas requiring greater attention.

Kiarie Promises to Champion Youth and Athletes

The aspiring MP said he intended to protect the interests of young people and athletes while pushing for better service delivery. He argued that Kenya offered numerous opportunities for young people, promising to speak up for athletes without fear.

Kiarie also pledged to address systemic challenges that he believes have prevented residents from achieving their ambitions. If elected, he said, his leadership would focus on ensuring that hardworking young people were not held back by failing systems.

He further promised to give Roysambu residents a stronger voice in national affairs. According to Kiarie, all constituents would be represented fairly, regardless of their backgrounds or personal circumstances.

The skater expressed confidence in the support he had received from Kenyans across the country. He said that support would guide his approach to leadership if he secured victory in the 2027 elections.

Tabitha Karanja Also Announces Gubernatorial Bid

Kiarie's declaration comes amid growing political activity ahead of the 2027 General Election. Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja has also announced plans to contest the county's gubernatorial seat on a Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) ticket.

Karanja, who was elected to the Senate on the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket, made the announcement on Friday, October 9. She credited her supporters for giving her the mandate to serve and said their role in her political journey remained central.

The senator also signalled her intended political shift by wearing green during the announcement. She said she would seek the Nakuru governorship under DCP, making her intentions clear as political alignments ahead of the next election begin to take shape.
