Safari Rally Kenya Gets 2027 Date as WRC Return Is Confirmed
The Kenyan round is scheduled for March 18–21 and will be staged as the fifth event of the 15-round championship season.
Kenya Secures Another WRC Appearance
The confirmation means the iconic Safari Rally will continue featuring among the championship’s international destinations beyond the 2026 season.
President William Ruto announced the development on Thursday, saying Kenya would once again welcome leading rally drivers from around the world.
The event will again showcase Kenya’s demanding rally terrain, with Naivasha and surrounding areas expected to provide the backdrop for the competition.
Preparations Already Underway
Ruto credited government agencies, the Safari Rally project, private-sector partners, the FIA and WRC Promoter for helping secure Kenya’s continued participation.
Safari Rally Kenya has remained one of the championship’s most distinctive events since its return to the WRC calendar.
The rally is known for its challenging gravel roads, deep ruts and demanding conditions, making it a distinctive test for competing crews.
With the 2027 date now set, attention will shift towards preparations for the next edition and the drivers expected to compete in Kenya.
