The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service said the exercise considered students’ KCSE performance, selected courses and available spaces in learning institutions.
CS Ogamba to Announce Placement Outcome
Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba will officially announce the placement outcome for university, college and TVET applicants.
KUCCPS said the process followed the requirements of the Universities Act, 2012, with qualified students placed according to merit.
Students to Check Results Online
Applicants will access their placement details through the KUCCPS portal using their KCSE index numbers.
After the release, universities and colleges will provide admission letters and joining instructions to successful students.
More Than 300,000 University Slots Available
The placement exercise comes after the 2025 KCSE examination, where about 270,000 candidates attained the C+ minimum grade required for university admission.
A total of 74 universities declared 322,396 degree slots, while TVET institutions provided capacity for more than one million trainees.
Competitive Courses Filled Early
Some popular programmes, including Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Engineering, recorded high demand during the initial application period.
KUCCPS CEO Agnes Mercy Wahome said the courses had no remaining spaces and were removed from the portal during revision.
The placement agency reported that 212,510 KCSE candidates with C+ and above applied for various programmes.
KCSE 2025 Recorded Better Results
The 2025 KCSE examination showed improved performance compared to the previous year.
The number of candidates who scored C- and above increased, while 1,932 students achieved the top A grade.
About 993,000 candidates participated in the national examination.
