Teachers Begin KNEC Briefings Next Week After TSC Completes CP2 Deployment

Teachers selected for this year's national examinations will attend four-day KNEC briefing sessions. The Kenya National Examinations Council briefings begin next week following TSC's completion of CP2 system deployment.

Centre managers and supervisors will be the first educators to receive sensitisation training. Teachers should log into the KNEC CP2 portal at cp2.knec.ac.ke to download their deployment letters immediately.

Deployment Letters Show School Posting and Assigned Examination Role
Each deployment letter specifies the school posting and the teacher's assigned examination role. Roles include centre manager, supervisor or invigilator depending on individual assignment and qualifications.

Teachers must print appointment letters and carry national ID cards throughout the exam period. Identification badges are required daily to verify authorisation and maintain examination security.

Briefings Cover New Innovations and Emerging Examination Issues
KNEC has outlined briefing objectives focusing on daily examination management and conduct. The sessions will cover new OMR form shading formats and quality assurance procedures.

Security protocols and field officer responsibilities will also feature prominently during training. Recruitment and deployment procedures receive detailed coverage in the comprehensive briefing agenda.

OMR Form Shading Requires Ellipse Marking Rather Than Striking
KPSEA and KJSEA candidates will answer multiple-choice questions on Optical Mark Reader sheets. Candidates must shade the ellipses completely rather than striking through them for accurate marking.

KNEC has placed sample OMR sheets on the CBA Grade 6 portal. Candidates can practise proper shading techniques on the provided sample papers.

Daily Material Management Follows Strict Opening and Collection Procedures
Examination packets open five minutes before the scheduled start time on the timetable. KPSEA and KJSEA materials are collected once each morning while KCSE materials require twice-daily collection.

Container collection occurs at 6:00 a.m. for KPSEA and KJSEA examinations. KCSE materials are collected at 7:00 a.m. for morning sessions and 12:30 p.m. for afternoon sessions respectively.

Script Control and Attendance Documentation Requires Daily Online Entry
Centre managers must take daily attendance on CP2 beginning from the rehearsal day. Registers are printed at each exam period's end and require signatures from all officers.

KCSE and KJSEA candidates sign script control forms for every examination paper. All return polybags must carry script control forms without school details or centre manager stamps.

Access Control Restricts Centre Entry to Authorised Examination Personnel Only
Authorised persons are limited to centre managers, deputy principals, supervisors and security officers. Invigilators, gatekeepers, cooks and technical teachers may also access the centre during exams.

Directors, BOM chairs, bursars, secretaries and unauthorised teachers are strictly barred throughout. Centre managers must prepare weekly lists of authorised persons with identification details.

Practical Examinations Limited to Two Sessions Per Paper Maximum
Science teachers with practical elements may access the centre only before and during practicals. Other preparation is restricted to weekends and after 5 p.m. following each day's exams.

Only chemistry teachers collect practical data for KNEC transmission approximately 30 minutes before session end. Biology and Physics teachers should not conduct practical examinations independently.

Mobile Phones and Electronic Devices Locked Outside Examination Rooms
All phones and electronic devices are locked outside exam rooms under security officer supervision. The supervisor holds the key to prevent unauthorised access during examinations.

Nobody may enter an examination room carrying a phone while papers are in progress. Invigilators must stand at the back of rooms monitoring candidate conduct throughout sessions.
