NCIC Summons Linda Mwananchi Ally Over Church Remarks

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has summoned former Makadara MP Reuben Ndolo over remarks he made at a Nairobi church service. The commission wants him to appear on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 2pm to answer questions about his statements.

Ndolo made the remarks on Sunday, October 18, during a service at Jesus Teaching Ministry Church in Embakasi East. The summons follows an investigation into comments concerning political mobilisation, youth recruitment and preparations for Raila Odinga’s first anniversary memorial.

Ndolo Speaks About Mobilising Youths

During the service, Ndolo claimed he had travelled to Bondo to recruit young people ahead of the memorial event. He also mentioned visiting Busia and Luanda in Vihiga County as part of the mobilisation exercise.

The former legislator said a senior political figure had sent him to undertake the assignment. He described the person as younger than himself but did not identify the individual in the remarks cited.

Ndolo also addressed disagreements among political leaders over preparations for the memorial. His comments included criticism of leaders regarding their handling of Ida Odinga’s situation.

He made claims involving Junet Mohamed and another leader whom he alleged had travelled to Dubai while Ida was distressed. Ndolo also referred to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, saying he intended to take him to Nyanza.

Commission Warns Against Ignoring Summons

In its notice, NCIC said the hearing would allow Ndolo to respond before it makes a determination. The commission will consider the material gathered during its investigation before deciding on any further action.

NCIC warned that failure to attend could result in arrest warrants being issued. It also said non-compliance could lead to criminal or contempt proceedings.

The commission has recently summoned several political leaders over remarks under investigation for possible hate speech, ethnic incitement and threats to national cohesion. Those summoned include Gachagua, Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, Busia Governor Paul Otuoma and Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma.

Summons Comes Ahead of 2027 Elections

The case comes as Kenya approaches the 2027 General Election, when political mobilisation is expected to increase. The commission’s investigations concern remarks it considers relevant to national cohesion and public discourse.

Ndolo will have an opportunity to respond to the issues raised during the scheduled hearing. The commission has not announced a final determination regarding the former legislator’s remarks.
