Araghchi Slams Macron Over Cost of Living and Protests

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has attacked French President Emmanuel Macron on social media. He posted his remarks on X after a weekend of unrest across France.

Araghchi shared a clip of a Macron speech about rising living costs. In it, the French leader blamed the ongoing war for the economic pain.

Macron's Message to Trump

Araghchi also posted an image of a message Macron sent to Donald Trump in January. In it, Macron said the two leaders could do great things on Iran.

Araghchi claims this message shows Macron welcomed atrocities against Iranians. He says Macron made his own bed with that assurance.

Blame Over the War

Araghchi rejected Macron's explanation for the higher cost of living. He says Macron and his allies helped cause the war, so he cannot blame it now.

He argues that the French leader is too late to shift responsibility. The minister believes Macron's own choices fuelled the crisis he now describes.

Protests as France's Future

Araghchi says French protesters want wholesale change, including freedom of assembly. He claims the demonstrations show where the country is heading.

He urged Macron to listen to what he called the future of France. The remark turns the weekend unrest into a political attack on the president.
