The Teachers Service Commission has advertised the position of Secretary and Chief Executive Officer. TSC Chairman Jamleck Muturi announced the recruitment on Tuesday, September 29.
The successful applicant will serve an initial five-year term in the position. The CEO may be reappointed for one additional five-year term thereafter.

Nancy Macharia completed her second and final five-year term at year-end. She departed from the position following successful tenure in the leadership role.
Eveleen Mitei assumed the acting CEO role from June 2025 onwards. She has overseen commission operations during the interim period between leadership transitions.
CEO Position Involves Overseeing Teacher Management and Implementing Commission Policies Nationwide
The successful applicant will oversee the management of teachers completely throughout the country. They must implement TSC policies, decisions and strategies effectively and efficiently.
The CEO will serve as head of the TSC secretariat officially. They must function as the accounting officer and custodian of records.
Position Requires Executing Commission Decisions and Supervising Staff Throughout Organization
The CEO must execute all decisions made by the Teachers Service Commission. They will supervise staff and coordinate the implementation of the commission's mandate.
The successful candidate will receive a gross monthly salary of Ksh698,600. They are also entitled to a mortgage facility of up to Ksh30 million.
CEO Receives Ksh15,000 Monthly Airtime Allowance and Ksh50,000 Annual Leave Allowance
The CEO will receive Ksh15,000 per month as an airtime allowance. They are also entitled to Ksh50,000 annually as a leave allowance.
The CEO will be provided with an official vehicle for official duties. The vehicle's engine capacity must not exceed 3,000 cubic centimetres.
Applicants must be Kenyan citizens in good standing throughout the application. They must hold a degree in education from a university recognised officially.
Applicants must have at least ten years' experience in relevant fields. Experience in human resource or financial management also satisfies the requirement.
