Kirinyaga County Commissioner Pledges Crackdown on Bars Hosting Naked Dancers

Kirinyaga County Commissioner Shufaa Omar Mwijuma has vowed to shut down immoral bars. Establishments accused of hosting naked dancers will face immediate closure in the county.

Mwijuma identified specific outlets in Kagio and Kutus engaging in this practice. One bar in Kagio allegedly hosts naked dancers every single night consistently.

Another establishment in Kutus brings in naked dancers every Friday evening. The commissioner said this practice violates county values and moral standards completely.

Commissioner Personally Leading Closure Operation Against Kagio Bar on Thursday

Mwijuma vowed to personally lead an operation closing the Kagio outlet. The commissioner said Thursday would be the date for this enforcement action.

"On Thursday we will be in Kagio to close this bar," she stated firmly. The bar hosts ladies dancing naked nightly, according to the commissioner's allegations.

She described the practice as a lack of good manners completely. The county will not allow such immoral activities within its jurisdiction whatsoever.

The commissioner said authorities had gathered substantial intelligence on both bars. They determined that the Kutus outlet should not have a valid licence.

"These two bars should be closed completely," Mwijuma declared without hesitation. The commissioner said such activities will not be tolerated in Kirinyaga County.

Stakeholders Meeting Addressed Broader Alcohol and Illicit Brew Control Measures

The commissioner spoke during a stakeholders meeting in Gichugu Sub-county. Chiefs and assistant chiefs gathered to discuss controlling illicit and counterfeit alcohol.

Participants identified uncontrolled bar licensing as a major challenge in the county. Night-time alcohol distribution also emerged as a significant enforcement concern completely.

NACADA Official Calls for Community Involvement in Next Licensing Cycle

NACADA Deputy Director Amos Warui said residents should participate actively. Communities should have a say in how many bars operate locally.

Warui noted that bar operating hours are limited to eleven. Establishments can operate between 11 AM and 11 PM daily only.

Warui identified bar licensing as a persistent major concern statewide. The licensing system requires comprehensive review and stronger community involvement mechanisms.

He emphasized saving residents affected by illicit brews remaining priority. Coordinated efforts beginning in Kirinyaga will spread across Kenya eventually.

The stakeholders believe coordinated efforts combining enforcement and community involvement work. Law enforcement alone cannot succeed without active citizen participation and reporting.

Residents must report illegal activities and unsafe alcohol distribution networks. Community vigilance strengthens the government's capacity to enforce regulations effectively nationwide.
